I have managed to do the inconceivable: take a break from working out.
Now, if this is really bad, please tell me, because I'm actually not freaking out about it but will if I should.
So this past week I ran my glorious 16 miles (Vanilla Bean Gu in hand)**, took my God-forsaken finals, and came home with my parents and grandparents until Autumn quarter. It'll be the first time since my long run was 6 miles that I've run somewhere besides campus, so we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, my point is that moving back and dinner with the family took all day yesterday, and when I go to the gym the day after long runs my attempts are always half-assed anyway, AND I don't have a gym membership here AND my driver's license expired (oops) so I'd have to get my parents to drive me, AND it was already dark (parents wouldn't let me run even if I wanted to), so...I stayed home and unpacked. Am I a total sinner?
I only felt a twinge of guilt, but then today we went out to dinner again and by the time we got back it was dark (no run) and my parents were going to bed (no gym).
But tomorrow's a good 11.5 miles, so hopefully I'll be able to make up for lost time, especially since I'm well-rested.
Overall, given my previous compulsiveness and dedication, I'd say it's more of a step in the right direction than in the wrong that I'm not flipping my lid after two days missed.
*"Inconceivable!" "I'm not quite sure you know what that word means."
**Trihardist, I'm with you. Vanilla Bean tastes like magic.
